Helping All autoimmune inflammatory disease sufferers, and their carers, improve the quality of their lives through a better understanding of how to manage their condition.
We're here to help
Welcome to Dragon Claw, a patient and carers led charity where you’ll find a wealth of information and support for those affected by autoimmune inflammatory disease. There are multiple autoimmune diseases and those affected often need to seek support from multiple health care providers.
Our conventional medical model does not deal well with these chronic conditions. And, sadly, the number of persons with autoimmune conditions is continuing to increase. A new approach is emerging - one that is multi-faceted, focused on lifestyle changes that are known to improve health and well-being.
Dragon Claw exists to help you better manage your health and get the support you need to live life to the fullest and not to be defined by your diagnosis and condition.
We strongly believe in an integrated and holistic approach to managing these conditions, so we have brought together practical information, personal stories, dietary advice along with hints and tips to help you when you are thinking about how to manage your condition and lifestyle.

Our 5 Pillars of Self Care
Each of these 5 Pillars of Self Care can offer significant benefits for someone with an autoimmune inflammatory disease. By incorporating them into your daily life you can help improve your overall health and well-being if you have been diagnosed with one of these diseases.
However, it's important to consult with a healthcare provider before making any significant lifestyle changes or starting a new exercise program.
Giving Patients Control – ‘Know Your Numbers”
Patient engagement leads to optimal health and to support this Dragon Claw (in collaboration with its Canadian Counterpart CAPA) has created a simple tool to help patients keep track of important factors/screen tests needed to manage their condition and ensure the best possible health – “Know Your Numbers”. This tool has been endorsed by The Australian Rheumatology Association (ARA).

Crippling RA is rampant amongst First Australians
During a visit to remote indigenous communities Dragon Claw saw that there was an urgent need to help local First Australian sufferers of these diseases as many did not fully appreciate the importance of taking their medication on a regular basis.
Dragon Claw was determined to address this issue and decided to launch the world’s first educational pilot program to remote first nations peoples anywhere in the world specifically on RA.
This video gives you an insight into some of the issues associated RA and Lupus for First Australian and how the Alice Springs video was developed.
Our Indigenous ‘Medicine Adherence’ program has been extended to include videos for Western NSW, Tiwi Islands and one to be launched soon for Borroloola.
